Discover one of Sheki’s most famous culinary traditions together with a local halva master. During this interactive class, you will learn about the history of Sheki halva, its key ingredients and the traditional preparation techniques passed down through generations.
The master will demonstrate how the delicate rice-flour lattice known as rishta is made, how the nut filling is prepared, how the layers are assembled and how traditional saffron patterns are added to the surface. Depending on the workshop format, guests can participate in suitable stages of the preparation process.
The experience concludes with a tasting of freshly prepared Sheki halva served with traditional Azerbaijani tea. This activity is ideal for solo travelers, couples, families and small groups interested in local cuisine, traditional sweets and Azerbaijani culture.
